In 2021, I took part in a collaborative economics fellowship involving the Historic Arch Social Club, Arch Social Community Network, Baltimore-based universities, Lafayette College and other diversely experienced West Baltimore stakeholders. As lead documentarian and photographer, I was tasked with filming interviews, that would be used for internal research purposes, and chronicling our experience through my camera lens. Over the course of the summer, and working with a team to develop recommendations that could transform West Baltimore communities into places of economic, social, and cultural prosperity. Particular focus was given to awakening the communities’ latent assets, including cultural and creative ones, and to their more meaningful engagement with the wealth-building dimensions of entrepreneurial capitalism.
